Rah Rah Riot

Alrighty so I decided this would be a cool thing to do from now on. Basically I’m gonna put an outfit together composed of 3 pieces and it’s gonna be less than $100 dollars. All links are included below.
Fuck yeah.

Alright so, the first picture is a shirt I’ve been in love with for a loooooong time, it’s the Dumb & Ugly shirt by Burger and Friends. It’s super lightweight, looks good on everyone and it’s an oversized tee - my favorite. It comes in either a sweater or a shirt, but I prefer the shirt. For $24 how could you not buy this?

Next picture is the Gene plaid pant/trouser by Motel Rocks. I love plaid pants, it’s the punk child in me. These look crazy comfortable and I always love what Motel is doing. Definitely fab. These bad boys are on sale right now for $24.95. 75% OFF PEOPLE. And if you use my rep code, andjeb, when you check out you get 10 percent extra off!

Last picture is shoes. I’m a shoe fucking freak. I love them. Especially crazy ones. So I pretty much died when I saw this Beverly-23 Fur Ankle Bootie by Breckelle. They’re a whopping $9.25 so I can justify these as an instant buy. They also bring out the hint of red in the plaid in the trousers. Unfortunately for others besides me, Urbanog only has these in an 8 right now. BUT. If you google it you can find other websites that carry it, for a different price I’m sure.

Well there you have it ladies, a 3 piece outfit for under $100. $58.20 to be exact. So you actually have money left over.
You should probably save it for food. Or rent.

Andjelina

Dress Mess.

So I found this dress from Forever21 that was not so hot.

I was never going to wear it & I'm not even sure why I have it.
So I turned it into a cute little skirt!!

With the help old of some old soffie shorts, of course.

I'll show you how to do it to your old ugly dress.

Materials:
> Dress with skirt potential (Works best with empire waists)
> Elastic (It should be an inch bigger than the distance around your waist, while stretched.)
> Sewing utensils (Machine or needle & thread work fine.)

I am a cheap bastard, so instead of purchasing elastic, I seam-ripped it of some shorts that I did not care for.
I even cut it in half for later use! Haha
You can just buy some if you'd like.

First Step:

Cut your dress right under the empire seam.
(Heart-breaking, I know.)
I left about 1/2" on the top portion to potentially make a top out of it later.

Please cut as straight as possible.
Otherwise you are going to have a jank-ass skirt.

Step Two:

Pin the waist of your skirt about 1/4" wider than your elastic.
With flimsy fabric like mine, the more pins the better.
(I would also advise pinning vertically.)

Leave a small space to string your elastic through!

Step Three:

 Sew that bad boy.
My elastic was 1/2", so I sewed at 5/8" & 6/8"
(I double stitched for security purposes, but it's not necessary.)

Remember to NOT sew up the hole for the elastic!

Step Four:

String your safety-pinned elastic all the way through your new waist band, making sure it doesn't get twisted along the way.

It's supposed to look scrunchy, don't try to smooth it all out.

Step Five:

After you get the elastic all the way through, sew it at 1/2".
Be sure to sew the seam open so it doesn't get too bulky.
Cut off the extra stuff :]

Final Step:

Sew the elastic hole closed by blending your new seams with the one's you already did.

And you're all set!!

Reuse, Renew, RECYCLE.
Bam.

Gambling For Prints

Alright, so tonight’s post is a little game. It’s called Gambling For Prints. I love to play this game cause it can take an outfit to the next level. Everybody has at least a few of these items in your closet, and if not, you could pick them up from a thrift store cheap.
To play this game, you need two dice. Roll your first one, whatever number you get is the accordingly numbered pattern. Roll the other die and find out which pattern to wear with it. If you get the same pattern roll again!!

1. Stripes

2. Plaid
3. Animal
4. Polka Dots
5. Tie Dye
6. Floral

Remember ladies, fashion is about fun. So you’re obviously not going to match, but in an odd way you will.
Now get out there and play that damn game!!

Let's Get Waisted.

Turns out I'm obsessed with something other than shopping:

High-waisted bottoms.

But really, let's look at the benefits of high waisted things:
> They make you look slimmer (No matter what size you are)
> They are classics (Clothes that never go out of style are perfect for broke bitches)
> They can be dressed up or down super easily. (Also a plus for us poor folk.)
> Your ass won't hang out when you bend over.
> They're hot hot hot!

And the disadvantages??
...
(Yup.)

Anyway, These are my high-waisted lovers, their prices, where I got them, and a few little deets about their history in my closet.

1. Ok, so this one was an accident and the start of my high-waisted lovin'.
I made this in 10th grade and chopped off one side with a serger.
(No idea how it still fits)
Instead of giving into my grief, I fixed it!

2. I found these shorts for $10 at this little boutique's closing sale.
They make me feel like Mickie Mouse.

3. I think I got this at the same boutique for the same price.
(This was back when I didn't buy things with my own money,
but still scoured the clearance racks for the best deals.)

4. These were some terrible Wranglers that my sister gave me,
So I chopped them into some sexy shorties.
They are my favorite shorts now.
(Seriously, every girl should own a pair of high-waisted denims.)

5. Classic black bandage skirt from Forever21.
I'm pretty sure it was $10 also, but you can find them for even cheaper now.

6. These are the cheapest item I have ever found at Urban Outfitters.
Ten bucks.
I didn't even know Urban had price tags that low.
They are little capri pants that my boyfriend insisted upon.
(Good thing he did!)

7. You may or may not remember me saying something about $5 pants in my Shopaholics post?
These bad boys.
If my web cam wasn't so shitty, you could see the awesome details better, but, you know.
I got these at the FIDM scholarship store.
(It is the fucking BEST for broke-ass bitches.)

8. I got this at Target for $14.
In 10th grade.
When zebra-print was all the rage.
It sits in a drawer now.
(Never follow the fads, guys.)

9. I actually picked this up at a photo shoot, so I'm not sure of the price.
It's from Forever21, though, so probably cheap-ish.
(Badass bitches wear leather minis, just sayin')
(Which is probably why I've never worn it. Hahah)

So there you go.
A bit of my closet on display so you can fill your own.

Whelp, peace out, cub scouts.
Forever Yours,
Samantha
